| All About Us |
Founded in 1977 by Stewart Craddy, under its earlier name of Craddy and Partner, the practice has been providing engineering services for nearly 30 years. Simon Pitchers joined Stewart in 1983, and in 1999, the name of the practice changed to Craddy Pitchers. Colin Davidson joined the practice in 2002, and when Stewart retired in 2004, Colin joined Simon as Director of the limited company. In December 2006, the name of the practice changed again to Craddy Pitchers Davidson and Pete Febery joined Simon and Colin as a Director.
The practice has grown considerably since 2002 when it moved out of Clifton into new purpose build offices in Ham Green. We currently employ over 30 people working on interesting and diverse projects for a wide variety of clients.

The Directors :
Simon Pitchers : Simon graduated from Manchester University in 1983 with a 2.1 in Civil Engineering, however those in Manchester at the time are much more likely to remember him from his role as drummer in the highly acclaimed (by John Peel at least) rock band, "The Diagram Brothers". As a chartered structural engineer, Simon's enthusiasm and passion for his subject, and in particular forensic engineering has led to various encounters with the media including several appearances on Jeremy Vine's radio show, where he is simply known as "Crack Man".
Colin Davidson : Colin graduated from the University of Leeds in 1991 with a first class honours degree. Colin is a chartered civil and structural engineer and he joined the practice in 2002. He is a proud Cumbrian and has been in exile in Bristol since 2000. He says that the move to the West Country was the best thing that he has done, however his time down here has done nothing to dent his Cumbrian accent or passion for Carlisle United.
Pete Febery : Pete is nearly our longest serving member of staff and he has been with the practice for over 20 years. His background is in geotechnical engineering but his broad knowledge of structural engineering means that he has an eye for what is right. "Ask Pete" is a common phrase used by many of our younger engineers and some of the not so young. He is a local lad and considers Severn Beach as one of the most romantic places that he has visited. |
