| MERGER: DIVERSIFY AND BEAT THE GLOOM |
|
|
A deliberate diversification policy is one way to beat the economic gloom ahead, said a leading local consulting engineer, whose firm has just joined forces with one of the largest independent firms of Civil and Structural Consulting Engineers in North Somerset.
Our merger with Bolgar Sykes White creates an organisation over 30-strong based in modern offices in Ham Green that can deal with Civil and Structural Engineering projects from £40M down to small domestic scale.
"Our amalgamation has come at exactly the right time, said Jonathan Bolgar, who becomes a consultant to the new-look Craddy Pitchers Davidson. "As economic conditions toughen, diversity is the key to success. The new organisation can bring big-practice benefits like dedicated civil and structural engineering designers, 3D modelling, expert witness services, health and safety coordination, fire risk assessments and party wall surveying to clients of all sizes.
"People say now is not the time to invest, but we disagree, said Veryan Sykes, Jonathan's former co-director who is now part of the Craddy Pitchers Davidson team; "and the new organisation will have even more diversity than may at first meet the eye. I'm their first ever woman engineer its long overdue!
